State Rep. Jon Hoadley on Gov. Whitmer’s Executive Budget Presentation

Thursday, February 6, 2020

“Gov. Whitmer’s executive budget has major wins for Michigan residents. By prioritizing record funding to support our students and teachers, expanding health care and other services for new mothers and their newborns, and investing in climate change resilient community infrastructure projects, the governor makes it clear that Michigan needs to get serious about tackling the challenges we face both today and tomorrow.

“As the mounting burden of student loan debt continues to climb, I’m especially proud to see the governor dedicate funds to create a student loan refinancing program right here in Michigan. We’ve been working together to move this program forward. It isn’t the end of the conversation on improving access to higher education and tackling exploding student debt, but this is something we can do today to make tomorrow better for Michigan residents.

“This budget offers real solutions for many of Michigan’s largest challenges; this is how we begin to build opportunity and deliver real results for the people of Michigan.”
